Refund Policy

How refunds work for purchases you make from AVTDB. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

1. What you can buy

The AVTDB app and its manual workflows are free. The only things you purchase from us are:

  • AI credits — prepaid, non-expiring units that pay for AI features (Avie, document OCR and search, receipt scanning, document analysis, and image generation).
  • Storage expansions — a one-time purchase, made with credits, that permanently raises your document storage cap.

Payments your own customers make on invoices you send are handled separately — see section 5.

2. AI credits

Credits are prepaid and do not expire. Because unused credits remain available to you indefinitely, credit purchases are generally non-refundable once completed.

That said, we want billing to be fair. We will issue a refund of the unused portion of a credit purchase, to your original payment method, when:

  • you contact us within 14 days of the purchase and have not yet used the credits from that purchase; or
  • you were charged in error, charged more than once for the same order, or charged because of a clear technical fault on our side.

Credits are only ever consumed after an AI action succeeds, so a failed or interrupted AI request does not cost you credits. If you believe an AI action charged you without delivering a result, contact us and we will review and correct it.

3. Storage expansions

Storage expansions are a one-time, permanent increase to your storage cap, paid for with credits. Once an expansion has been applied to your account it is generally non-refundable, because the added capacity is immediately and permanently available.

If you purchased an expansion in error or did not intend to, contact us within 14 days and we will work with you in good faith — typically by reversing the change and refunding the credits, provided your stored data still fits within your remaining cap.

4. How to request a refund

Email support@avtdb.com from the email address on your account. Include the approximate date and amount of the purchase and a short description of the issue. We aim to respond within a few business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method; depending on your bank or card issuer it can take several business days to appear.

Please reach out to us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute — we can almost always resolve billing issues faster directly.

5. Payments from your customers

When your customers pay your invoices online, those payments are processed through your own connected Stripe account and settle directly to your bank — AVTDB never holds those funds and takes no cut. Refunding a payment your customer made is therefore between you and your customer: issue it from your Stripe dashboard. This Refund Policy covers only the credits and storage you buy from AVTDB.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice and apply only to future purchases. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service. Questions? Email support@avtdb.com.
